How Take 5 works
Take 5 is a New York game drawn twice a day, at 2:30 pm and 10:30 pm Eastern. Five numbers are drawn from 1 to 39. There's no bonus ball, and the odds of matching all five are far better than the big multi-state games. Midday draws started in July 2021, so the history before then is evening draws only.
- Pick five numbers from 1 to 39. Each play costs $1.
- Choose the midday draw, the evening draw, or both.
- Match two or more numbers to win. The top prize is shared among everyone who matches all five.
Take 5 odds
| Match | Odds |
|---|---|
| 5 of 5 | 1 in 575,757 |
| 4 of 5 | 1 in 3,387 |
| 3 of 5 | 1 in 103 |
| 2 of 5 | 1 in 10 |
These are the chances of each match on a single play. Which matches win a prize, and how much, is set by the lottery; check the official prize chart.
